Đăng tin - FAA Proposes Faster Aircraft Certification While Maintaining Safety S
FAA Proposes Faster Aircraft Certification While Maintaining Safety Standards
29 June 2026

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced a proposal to modernize the certification process for new commercial aircraft, aiming to reduce unnecessary delays while maintaining the industry's high safety standards.

The proposed changes are designed to better align FAA certification requirements with those of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). According to regulators, greater harmonization between the two authorities could simplify aircraft approvals for manufacturers operating in multiple markets, reducing certification costs and eliminating the need for many special exemptions.

The initiative comes as aircraft manufacturers continue to face lengthy certification timelines for new models and major design updates. Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, and Bombardier are all expected to benefit from a more streamlined approval process once the new framework is finalized.

FAA officials emphasized that the proposal is not intended to reduce safety oversight. Instead, the agency says it will modernize decades-old regulations to reflect today's technologies and certification methods while preserving rigorous safety requirements.

The announcement also reflects growing cooperation between the FAA and EASA, with both agencies working more closely on future aircraft certification programs and safety initiatives.

What This Means for Aviation Jobs

For aviation professionals, more efficient certification processes could support future aircraft production and fleet expansion. As airlines receive new aircraft more quickly, demand for pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, dispatchers, cabin crew, and ground operations personnel is expected to remain strong over the coming years.

Manufacturers, maintenance organizations, and training providers may also benefit from increased production activity as certification bottlenecks are reduced.

Industry observers will now be watching the public consultation process before the FAA finalizes the new certification framework.
