Introduction

AirBridgeCargo Airlines, part of Volga-Dnepr Group, entered the scheduled cargo market in May 2004 when the first AirBridgeCargo branded Boeing 747 made its inaugural commercial flight. This milestone for the Group was the realization of two years or preliminary work to build the airline’s fleet, network, management and personnel under its Russian Scheduled Cargo Operation Development Strategy Today, AirBridgeCargo is the largest Russian carrier in the international scheduled cargo market. It operates Boeing 747 all-cargo flights via Russian cargo hubs in Moscow and Krasnoyarsk, which provide a significant reduction in transit times for its customers. ABC is the first Russian airline to operate Boeing 747s. АВС’s current fleet consists of six Boeing 747 freighters: two B747-200F, one B747-300F and three B747-400ERF. In the future, the airline’s fleet will be expanded with the addition of new generation, long-haul Boeing 747-8F freighters. Volga-Dnepr has five of these aircraft on order from Boeing for delivery between 2010 and 2013 and options for five more of the same type. The airline’s capacity is available for transporting any type of cargo, including shipments requiring special handling or a temperature-controlled environment. Taking advantage of Volga-Dnepr Group’s specialist air charter fleet, ABC customers can also request charter operations to any destination worldwide using in-fleet B747s as well as Russian-made Antonov 124 and Ilyushin 76 freighters, including the new IL-76TD-90VD freighter. Combining high quality service levels and a range of competitive products, AirBridgeCargo’s route network has developed to meet current market demand and is based on mutually beneficial relationships with key customers, including global and regional forwarders and logistics companies. In 2009, АВС plans to start more scheduled operations from its hub in Moscow and increase its European network to further destinations. In addition to its own routes, AirBridgeCargo’s delivery network is enhanced by interline agreements with other leading scheduled airlines, including Nippon Cargo Airlines, Air Canada, Emirates and Cargolux.

AirBridgeCargo is committed to participating in leading industry groups that improve quality of service for its customers and help to establish the airline as a reliable and professional business partner. These include Cargo 2000 and TAPA . After a period of extensive development from 2004-2008, in 2009 the company plans to concentrate on increasing service quality, reliability and operational efficiency as well as the optimization and expansion of its route network.
