Responsibilities: As a Lead Cargo Officer in commercial control, you will be responsible for daily monitoring Cargo Revenue of every flight, within IOC cargo window to ensure changes that will make a flight profitable. You have to liaise with stations and provide information to Network Manager on the least impact due to consequence in case of freighter disruption and suggest preventative action. Monitor critical shipments on flight booking list and anticipates shipment disruptions on airway-bill level and ensures revenue protection measures are applied. Alert and recommend course of action to Network Cargo Control Manager on safety contingencies, emergencies, operational, commercial and revenue management. Conduct root-cause analysis for disrupted shipment movements, monitors critical FSU messages and provides recovery plan to IOC Cargo stakeholders In this role, you will act as a 24/7 contact for cargo network team to advise on impact on shipment-level disruptions. You will proactively steer adhoc upgrades/downgrades/cancellations of flights based on predicted capacity utilization and shipment handling requirements inside the IOC cargo operational window. Provide commercial viability for adhoc requests of other departments to upgrade/downgrade PAX flights to accommodate shipments. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Monitor overall shipment performance on flight level throughout QR Cargo supply chain including booking, acceptance process, trucking, QR freighters and QR passenger flight movements. Recommending to the IOC to delay flights wherever necessary due to cargo load connections by justifying revenue impact and reactionary impact if any VIA OZONE. Coordinating with IOC Ops and Pre-Ops teams for aircraft upgrades to accommodate backlog due to flight disruption wherever required. In the IOC operational window coordinate with IOC Ops and Pre-Ops teams for aircraft upgrades and downgrades to enable potential last minute revenue gain. Providing regular feedback to Network cargo control Manager on major disruptions and overbooking situations which may have commercial impact. Analyzing and providing inputs on commercial impact on suggested schedule change caused due to operational / maintenance reasons, last minute flight cancellations due to commercial reasons and ensuring that feasible rerouting options are provided. Key liaison for network wide space control requests for critical shipments on cargo flights after RSC flight booking list (FBL) is released if RSC unavailable. Act as key focal point to assist RSC (if RSC available) or facilitate (if RSC unavailable) quick turnaround of freighters released by Regional Space Control, in order to reduce ground time and further delays (liaise with Regional Space Control analysts to proactively ensure curfew or operationally critical flights are on track to be released optimally).
Required skills: To be successful in this role you will need to be minimum Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience in reputable cargo forwarder, cargo customer service, cargo revenue management or cargo supply chain. As well as, involvement in Cargo iQ/Cargo 2000 performance and analysis. You will need to have a sound knowledge of cargo reservation and tracking system, overall cargo operations and set up, and cargo supply chain. You should have an knowledge in cargo revenue management concept and solid understanding of key stakeholder functions including GHA’s, network stations, cargo operations, IOC, crew control, fuel OCC, flight dispatch, NAVATM, load masters, network planning, charter operations, dangerous goods, cargo compliance, corporate safety and security, cargo sales, customer experience.
